The film was ready, but they put it in a drawer until the whirlwind of the version that Disney made two years ago. And now that the panorama has been cleared, Mowgli, the film directed by Andy Serkis (actor who played the Gollum of The Lord of the Rings), threatens to disembark at any moment in theaters and reverses the story of The Jungle Book with a Nut turn (and aesthetics) much darker.
Disney's latest adaptation of The Jungle Book was one of the box office hits of 2016. But Andy Serkis has his own version of the story ready. The film mixes real image with a lot of computer animation, and has in the leading role young Rohan Chand, who definitely prints much more 'human' presence than other versions of the story. This is going to be one of the substantial differences in this version of Rudyard Kipling's book.
Among the actors are Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch and Cate Blanchett, who test the techniques of motion capture proposed by Serkis (remember that the actor and director also played Cesar in The Planet of the Apes).
